Is it a competitive advantage in the business field to have a law degree in addition to a business background

Is it a competitive advantage in the business field to have a law degree in addition to a business background?
Is it considered a competitive advantage when a corporation is hiring for someone to have not only a business background but a law degree as well? I have an MBA and am almost through with my PhD in management and would really love to study law but am not sure if it is worth the effort if it will not add a hiring or competitive edge to me. Thanks!

Yes certainly it is. Companies or big corporations would have several legal or contractual positions where they could use some one with an MBA and law qualification. positions like regulatory affairs. contract manager, legal advisor etc are some examples of position available . Hope this helps.
