Nursing management comes at all levels. In retirement homes, the nursing management is at the practical nurse/vocational nurse level. In hospitals, it's usually an RN or a BScN/RN. Someone with a PhDN, would have their pick of just about any job and would most likely be doing research at a university and/or a professor at a university.

I would have me a nice smoke and then go crawl in bed with other guy and forget about the PHD. It don`t sound like you have a hell of a lot going for yourself anyway. Lots of luck .

What field of study i'd better to choose? Management or Sociology
What field of study i'd better to choose? Management or Sociology?
I want to get a PhD in Management or Sociology in order to be an academic lecturer. However, neither my MS. nor my BSc. are relevant to any of these to feilds of studies ( so i am doing preparational studies for both cases). I am uncertain what to choose. as a matter of fact, i am intersted more in Sociology, while i believe there is more job opportunities for the Management decipline. (note: by job i specificly refering to lecturing in universities.) what you could tell me in order to deside more certainly?

In order to be an effective lecturer, you need to be comfortable with the material and very accurate in your information. You may have to seek a position that requires relocating, but you need to do what you will be more content with.

I would choose Sociology since that is what you seem to prefer, and are more interested in.

Sociology is useless unless you've made some incredibly notable breakthrough. Nobody wants to listen to a lecture on sociology. That's why so many of them are college professors... captive audiences. I know a man with a Ph.D. in Business Administration (DBA). Unlike most academicians, he also has about 30 years of successful management experience to back it up. He's delivered a few lectures. He was offered a position at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. He turned it down because he's said UCB is the last place in the world he'd work. He prefers it, as he puts it, "where the rubber meets the road." His opinion of academicians isn't very high.
