In the U.S.A., Process Safety Management is a set of regulations promulgated by the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration intended to prevent a disaster like the 1984 Bhopal Disaster. The professionals who implement this sort of regulation would have degrees in chemical engineering and/or safety engineering. What is the designation for graduate certificate in leadership and management (i.e. phd, mba, etc.)
What is the designation for graduate certificate in leadership and management (i.e. phd, mba, etc.)?
The certificate course was at the University of Maryland, University College and contained 15 credit hours of study.

It would be called a Certificate in Management. Certificate courses may run several weeks to a few months tops while the other degrees take longer to pursue. MBAs in traditional university setting takes 2 years of full load study. A PhD takes about 4 years because you need a MA (Master's Degree which lasts 2 years) before you are allowed to take Doctoral studies.

Probably Master of Science (MS) however it would depend on the school you obtained the degree from. A lot of distance/online schools are now offering masters degrees in broad fields such as Leadership and Management, and sometimes those schools come up with their own designations, such as MLM, MSML, etc. It's best to check with the school. I have a MS in Information Systems and am contemplating pursuing an MBA as well... or a PhD... Which should I?
Should I pursue the MBA or the PhD in Management... I want to eventually reach Senior Management in my field (IT) or a similar field (Business).
