Hi, I recently finished my PhD after 4 years working on a research project in Engineering. Does this mean that I am elligible to sit for PMP, instead of sitting in CAPM? If someone can guide me in this regard, I shall be grateful!!!! Thanks in advance!

Dear Aussie-Cheetah, The straight and simple answer to your question is: NO. The answer may seem rude to you but the fact is that you need to have at least 4500 hours of experience (spread over a minimum of 36 months) in directing and managing project activities before you become eligible to sit for the exam. Besides, you need to be a graduate and also have attended at least 35 hours of project management training. For complete details, please refer to the authoritative source: http://www.pmi.org.
